Festival of
Lighting the Torches to Neith This Festival celebrates the Great Goddess Neith. It can also be incorporated into your Midsummer Festivities. The idea of this Ritual is to light a corridor that will create a doorway. Spirits and guardians can pass freely through this doorway into your circle. Make sure you only perform this ritual within Sacred Space. Have a buffet meal set up within your circle, but out of the way. If you are performing this spell indoors, use taper candles
instead of torches. Cast your Sacred Space as you normally do. Tools and Supplies needed: Sword Each person should take a few moments to engrave their candle with symbols or the names of loved one who have passed within the last calendar year. High Priest says: This is a celebration of lighting the torches to Neith, The Temple Guardian lights the balefire. High Priestess says: On this night, we celebrate the Goddess Silently, one by one, Coven members come forward and light their torches from the balefire. Each torch is taken to the West side of the Sacred Space and placed so that they appear to form a vertical fire ring. High Priestess says: Great Goddess Neith Everyone sits and meditates on the fire ring for as long as they desire. When they have finished, they light their engraved candles from the fire ring, and place the lit candles on the altar. When everyone has lit their candles, the High Priestess says: We welcome our loved ones to us Each Coven member should fill their plate, as well as a small plate to offer to the Gods and spirits. Once the plates have been filled, each member should find a quiet place within Sacred Space and eat quietly, mentally conversing with the spirits. Don’t forget to fill a plate for Neith and place it on the altar. When you are done eating, clean up after yourself, and sit quietly in your place until everyone is finished. Once everyone is done, The High Priestess says: We thank the Great Goddess Neith The fire ring torches/candles are extinguished. Now, close the
Circle in your usual manner. |
