Ritual

Tool and Supply List:
1 – White (taper) altar candle
4 – Cardinal Point Candles, one each of Green, Yellow, red and Blue
1 – Bowl of Salt
1 - incense burner and 4 sticks or cones or handfuls of incense
1 – tray with 4 red candles
1 – Seashell filled with spring water
Athame or Sword
Statue of Goddess and a statue of God
2 – bowls placed in front of each statue
2 - votive candle placed in front of each statue in color of your choice.
1 – plate of offering foods
1 – chalice filled with wine or spring water
1 – candle snuffer
Temple and Altar set up
Bathe, shower or smudge yourself clean before entering your Temple. If
possible, you should fast for 12 hours prior to this ritual.
Time this ritual to correspond with the time of day your Goddess best
represents. For my Goddess Bast, this would be at sunset, on the evening of
the full moon. Cover the Altar with a white cloth, and dress in white. Place
the statues of the God and Goddess on your altar with the empty offering
bowls in front of them with a candle for each. Place each of the four
Cardinal Point candles at their proper places within your Temple. Place the
elemental representations on your altar, along with your athame, wand and
other tools. Place the sword point into the ground in the very center of your
circle.
When your Temple and Altar are set up to your satisfaction. Stand before your
altar and take three deeps breaths and light the white altar candle before
beginning to invoke the elements. Use this altar candle to light all the
others, including the incense and balefire.
Hold up the bowl of salt and recite:
I spread this salt of our earth
Upon the ground to set the boundaries
Of this Sacred Space
No evil may cross my mark.
Sprinkle to salt around the perimeter of the Temple, beginning and ending at
the North. Leave the salt next to the north candle and return to your altar.
Hold up the incense burner and light the incense, then recite:
I light this incense
So that its’ smoke
May be used as a pathway
To conduct our prayers
To the Gods ears.
Divide the incense between the four cardinal points of your Sacred space
beginning and ending at the East. Return to the altar, pick up the tray
holding the four red votive candles. Light the candles and recite:
This fire honors all Gods and Goddesses
May their names be praised on this night
Maiden Mother Crone
Heir Pharaoh God
All are worshipped at this site.
Leave one candle at each cardinal point within your Sacred Space, beginning
and ending at the South. Return to your altar and hold up the shell filled with
water and recite:
From this water all life flows
From the beginning to the end
As was then, make it now within this place
Seal my soul within this Sacred Space.
Sprinkle the water around the perimeter of your Sacred Space beginning and
ending at the West. Then move to the Green, North Cardinal Point Candle and
light it, recite:
I call to the Great Goddess Isis,
Mistress of Magic and Might
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space
I call to the great God Osiris
God of death and resurrection
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space
Move to the Yellow Cardinal Point Candle in the East, light it and recite:
I call to the Great Goddess Nephthys
Lady of the House
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space.
I call to the Great God Set
God of thunder and the sky at night
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space.
Move to the Red Cardinal Point Candle in the South, light it and recite:
I call to the Great Goddess Sekhmet
Goddess of Fire and Great Destroyer
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space.
I call to the Great God Anubis
Guardian of the Dead and Keeper of the Scales of Ma’at
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space.
Move to the Blue Cardinal Point Candle in the West, light it and recite:
I call to the Great Goddess Neith
Mistress of all Gods and Lady of the West
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space.
I call to the Great God Thoth
God of the Moon, wisdom and the Arts
Join me now in this place,
Help me create Sacred Space.
Stand in the center of your Circle, raise your arms towards the skies and
recite:
I bid welcome to the Great Goddess Nut,
Goddess of the skies and Mother of the Gods
I bid welcome to the Great God Geb
God of the Earth and Father of the Gods.
Join me now in this place
Help me create Sacred Space
I bid welcome to the Gods and Goddesses
Of the four corners of the world
Hathor, Horus, Khnum, Ma’at
Min, Ptah, Selket and Sobek
I invite you to join me, protect me
Guide and guard me in this rite
Which I hold in your honor and for your glory.
Raise your sword straight above you, pointed to the skies and recite:
As our prayers and praise rise up to you
On the smoke of our incense and fires
May your blessings and commandments descend
Upon the steel of this blade.
Drive the sword gently into the ground in the center of your circle, being
very careful not to stab your foot, and say:
My circle is cast. May I receive your words.
Stand before your altar, looking at the statues that represent your personal
God and Goddess. Recite:
I have assembled in your shrine, the tools to work your magic light
Hear me know, your child divine. I bow and praise your name on this night.
Here me now these words I speak and see before me offerings of Peace
Your secrets are safe in my keep, throughout this life and all my days
Heart joined to heart, my lips to your ears. My soul breathes your names
In darkness I no longer fear, for within darkness, your protection remains
From darkness to light You have guided me, my soul you protect and keep safe
From birth to rebirth you have shown me, the path that now I do take.
I stand now before your altar bright, within this Temple, your Holy Place
To thank you and to invoke your Holy Light, that you might join me in Sacred
space
God and Goddess of my Heart, Creators of me soul,
I tread the ground upon your path
Be with me now, your truths to unfold, keep me safe from evils wrath
Your existence marks the beginning of time, within your secret Temples on
Earth
The boundaries of knowledge locked within, your love provides the key
By the light of the full moon, my soul whispers your names
Drums and hearts beat in tune, to your enchanted serenade.
I walk upon your sacred path, your essence shines within
Without all darkness ceases to be, your spirit guides me in.
Light the Candle in front of the Great Goddess statue and recite:
Most Revered Lady, I light this candle, in honor of your names,
The Eye of Ra, the Eye of Tem, Goddess of the birth chamber,
Mother of Khensu, Keeper of the thigh of Osiris, Artemis and Diana.
As the smoke from this flame does rise, may it carry my prayers to your ears.
I ask that you look upon my soul with gentle thoughts
Knowing that all I do, I do in your name and for your glory
Accept my soul once again as your Daughter, and High Priestess of your Temple
Love me and protect me for all the days of this life
And all the lives to come until I join you in the eternal Field of Reeds.
May your name live forever in the hearts of men.
Light the candle before the Great God statue and recite:
Honor to thee, Great and Powerful Ra, who rests upon Ma’at
As you pass over the heavens, every face can see thee
And thy rays fall upon every face.
Thou art One, even as he that brings the food of life
Men praise thy name and swear by thee, for thou art Lord of them.
You have seen with your eyes, and heard with your ears
The millions of years that have passed.
You pass through and over untold spaces, and have passed through them in
peace
While steering your way across the watery abyss, to the place that you love.
This you do in one moment of time, and then you sink down
And make an end to the hours.
Accept my soul once again as your Daughter, and High Priestess of your Temple
Love me and protect me for all the days of this life
And all the lives to come until I join you , In the eternal Field of Reeds.
May your name live forever, in the hearts of men.
Place the offering food into the bowl before each statue, add a little bit of
the wine, then hold the chalice up to the skies and recite:
I thank you for my creation and drink of the fruit of your blessings
My eternal Holy Mother and Divine Father, to you I swear, upon my soul
That I shall conduct your Rituals, and lead this Coven upon your path.
As you have decreed, so shall it be. My soul is yours for eternity.
Drink the wine and replace the chalice on the altar. Now is the time to close
the circle.
Go to the West and snuff out all candles. Recite:
I thank the great Goddess Neith , and the great God Thoth.
I ask that you join me in future Circles.
May your names live forever in the hearts of men.
Go to the South and snuff out all candles. Recite:
I thank the great Goddess Sekhmet, and the great God Anubis.
I ask that you join me in future Circles.
May your names live forever in the hearts of men.
Go to the East and snuff out all candles. Recite:
I thank the great Goddess Nephthys, and the great God Set.
I ask that you join me in future Circles.
May your names live forever in the hearts of men.
Go to the North and snuff out all candles. Recite:
I thank the great Goddess Isis, and the great God Osiris.
I ask that you join me in future Circles.
May your names live forever in the hearts of men.
Stand before your altar and snuff out the God Candle, recite:
I give thanks to you, my Father
And pray that your guidance shall be with me for eternity
Snuff out the Goddess candle and recite:
I give thanks to you, my Mother
And pray that your guidance shall be with me for eternity
Snuff out the Altar candle and recite:
I release this circle of power and might
May all spirits go or stay as they please
As I have said, so let it be.
The Ritual is ended. Clean up any messes, put out the balefire and any
torches you have lit. Always leave the Temple clean. Take the offering foods
out to an offering table for the wildlife to feast upon.
