Goddess Celebration The Goddess Celebration is a very private personal experience. It can be performed on any day and at any time; however, it is best to spend an entire day celebrating. Choose a day when you can be totally alone and there is little chance of a huge emergency arising. It is best to perform this celebration outdoors in a secluded place. If you have nowhere private on your land, think about going camping. Spending the day among nature is the easiest way to get in touch with your personal Goddess. If you simply can’t spend the time outdoors, then turn off your phones, lock all the doors, hide your car and pretend to be away from home. My favorite way to celebrate is to camp out in my woods. It is totally secluded and quiet, or at least as quiet as a forest full of birds, insects and tree frogs can get. With no ringing phones, doorbells or fussy children to distract you, a day of serenity and celebration will go a long way towards relieving the stress of your day-to-day life. Begin by sleeping as late as you want and set a leisurely pace for the day. Eat a light breakfast of fresh fruits and berries, nuts, granola, cereal or toast, while listening to the natural sounds around you or some soft music. Then take a walk in nature. If there is nothing near you, drive to a park and walk around, enjoying the energies contained in the trees and plants around you. Once you have returned to your home or campsite, take a nice long bath. If you are camping, fill a basin with warm water and give yourself a good sponge bath. Use all the bath salts, lotions, creams and soaps you can get your hand on, but try to stick with one scent. If you are outdoors, do not use anything that is scented, as the scent will attract mosquitoes and other biting insects. The best products to use outdoors are ones with no scent. Use unscented powder mixed with powdered sage and or basil for a body powder, diluted sage or lavender oil for body oil and learn to make your own soaps and shampoos that will not attract insects. You can find instructions for making your own bath products on hundreds of internet sites, and the supplies you will need can easily be purchased at Wal-Mart, or any craft or hobby store. Take your time with your bath, shave all areas that need to be shaved, shampoo your hair and condition it, truly pamper yourself. When you are finished, don’t dry off. Smooth on some light oil and allow your skin to dry naturally while you lay in the sun. If you can’t lay out naked, then put on a swimsuit. Visualize the warmth of the sun penetrating your skin and filling your body with a healing light. Direct these energies to any area which could use some healing by seeing the area in your mind and sending the warmth to it. Keep going until your skin is dry and you are beginning to get to warm. Don’t stay long enough in the sun to get sunburned. When you are completely dry, dress in a ceremonial robe or loose comfortable clothing. Find a nice peaceful place to sit down and relax for a while. Meditate on your life as it is right now, and what you would like to change about it. If you can’t think of anything, give it some time, the Goddess will tell you what she wants you to work on. Make a list of the steps you need to accomplish in order to change your life in the ways you feel are needed. Set a goal and work towards it, but make sure you don’t set a goal that is unattainable, or foolish. Set smaller goals which can be accomplished within a week’s time to begin with. For instance, if you want to lose weight, plan on losing just 2 pounds in the next week, and decrease the size of your meal portions to accomplish that. Exercise two times a week for ½ hour each time and don’t get on the scales till the week is over. You may be surprised to discover you have lost more than you planned. If you want to stop doing something, then figure out how often you do it during a week and decrease that amount by 5. Smoke 5 less cigarettes, spend 5 hours less online or drink 5 less alcoholic beverages. Start small and be consistent. If you truly want to make changes in your life, then you have to make the commitment to change those behaviors, which support the habit you are trying to break. In the words of the rock group Rush, “You can’t fight the fire, while you’re feeding the flames”. So, now you should be feeling relaxed and determined to better yourself and your life. You have a plan in place and it is now time to ask for some help sticking to your plans. Set up your Temple in the usual manner.
Cast Sacred Space in your normal manner, and light a small balefire. Spend several moments composing your thoughts while meditating on the flames of the balefire. Write down what your ultimate goal is and the steps you have come up with to accomplish that goal. Engrave your pillar candle with symbols of your goal, or simply engrave your goal directly onto the candle. Light the candle from the balefire, then set the paper on fire from the candle. Throw the burning paper into the balefire with some wishing powder while saying: As the Goddess has asked Spend as much time as you want in meditation. Have some foods available within your Circle in case you get hungry. Don’t forget to make an offering to the Goddess of some of your meal. Turn on some quiet music and lay down near the fire. Make sure your balefire cannot get out of control. Close your eyes and relax, allowing your mind to drift wherever it wants to go. Enjoy your meal, and then try to do some astral projection or Chakra cleansing When you are finished with everything you feel you need to
do, snuff out your goal candle, close your circle and put out your balefire.
Begin working on your new goal immediately. Any time you feel uncertain about
your goal or feel depressed that you are not making as much progress as you
had hoped, light your goal candle, sprinkle some wishing powder on it and say
a prayer to the Goddess. She will keep you strong. |
