Generic Feast Ritual Set up a table in the center of where you will cast Sacred Space. Set a place for each guest and one for the God or Goddess whose feast you are celebrating. The God/Goddess plate should be at the head of the table. Place a statue of the God/dess on your altar with a candle of the appropriate color. All guests should stand behind their chair while the HP/Host and/or HPS/Hostess creates Sacred Space using the simplified method of casting. This is an informal, celebratory meal, which should begin with a few words of thanks for the God/dess which you are celebrating, for their goodness in providing this feast for you. You could serve the meal as a buffet, but it is always nicer to have the food on the table, family style, in pretty serving bowls. Pass the bowls around so everyone gets what they want, and don’t forget to fill the God/desses plate as well. Everyone should use good table manners and be respectful, but have fun also. When everyone has finished eating, you may elect to clear
the table and chat or play games for awhile, or close your circle and send
your guests home with a plate of leftovers. Once the Sacred Space has been
released, take the God/dess plate outside for the animals. |
