Full Moon Ritual

In addition to the tools you need to cast sacred space, you will need the following:

Blue Candle (pillar candle works best)

Large Glass Bowl

Spring Water (enough to fill bowl 3/4 full)

Three taper candles (one red, white, and black)

Candle Holders

Gather the spring water the night before and keep it in a dark place till after the moon has fully risen and you are ready to begin your Ritual. Place the bowl in the center of your altar and place the unlit blue candle inside the bowl, in the center. A pillar candle is best because it will sit inside the bowl without aid and in no danger of falling over. This ritual is about the Goddess, and you should be very specific about saying the name of your personal deity as often as possible during this rite.

If you personal Goddess is represented as a Cardinal Point Goddess in the following rite, substitute another Goddess from this list.
North – Mut, Nut, Taurt
East – Ma’at, Seshat
South – Sekhmet,
West – Nephthys

Begin at the North, light the green candle and say:

“I bid Welcome to the Great Goddess Isis
Goddess of Earth, Lady of the North.
May the sands of time
Whisper your name for eternity.”

Go to the East, light the yellow or white candle and say:

“I bid Welcome to the great Goddess Bast
Goddess of Air and Lady of the East
May the winds of time
Whisper your name for eternity”

Go to the South, light the red candle and say:

“I bid Welcome to the Great Goddess Hathor
Goddess of Fire and Lady of the South
May the flames of time
Whisper your name for eternity.”

Go to the West, light the blue candle and say:

“I bid welcome to the great Goddess Neith
Goddess of Water and Lady of the West
May the Waves of time
Whisper your name for eternity.”

Stand in front of your altar and fill the bowl with the spring water till it is almost overflowing. Light the blue candle as you Welcome your Goddess.

“I bid Welcome to the great Goddess ______________
Goddess of my soul and Lady of my life
My Creator, my Mother
May my soul whisper your name throughout eternity.”

If you are doing this ritual out doors, which you should always try to do. Make sure you have placed the bowl so that the moon can shine down upon the surface of the water. Use a feather or your finger to stir the water three times in a clockwise manner. Gaze at the reflection and try to catch glimpses of signs or symbols. Now is the time to do any spellwork. The best spells for a full moon are;, increasing power, divination work, protection, money and love spells.

When you are finished, go to the West, snuff out the candle and say:

“Thank you and Farewell, Great Goddess Neith
may your waters live forever in my soul.”

Go to the South and say:

“Thank you and farewell, Great Goddess Hathor
may your fires live forever in my soul.”

Go to the East and say:

“Thank you and farewell, Great Goddess Bast
May your breath live forever in my soul.”

Go to the North and say:

"Thank you and farewell, Great Goddess Isis
may your fruits live forever in my soul.”

Stand before the bowl and bid farewell to your Goddess.

“Thank you and Farewell, Most Holy Mother.
Protect me throughout the days
And lead me through the darkness.
May your name live forever in my soul.”

Your circle is closed and the Ritual is finished. Blow a kiss to the moon and say a quick word of thanks before leaving the area. And clean up any mess you made.
