Feast of Nephthys Choose a Coven member who has worked with Nephthys to portray the Goddess during this Festival. The coven member should spend several minutes in the meditation area in prayer and allowing the Goddess to descend into their body. When they are ready, they should walk to the Temple, where Sacred Space has already been cast and the balefire lit. The Temple Guardian should cut a doorway to allow the Goddess to enter, The Goddess says: “I am Nephthys, youngest daughter of the Great Goddess Nut and the great God Geb. I protect all those who have passed the scale of Ma’at. With my son, Anubis, I defend those who have been harmed by injustice and lies. I am the Lady of the House in which all that is hidden is known. Come to me in worship and receive my blessings.” The Goddess is escorted to a seat before a table set up near the balefire. On the table are as many forms of divination tools as the coven owns. Crystal ball, scrying bowl, tarot, runes, pendulum, so forth. Each person present should stand in front of the table, facing the Goddess. If the person is a coven member the Goddess should say: “__Name of Coven member__, your name is known to me. You are welcome here.” If the person is not a member of the Coven, the Goddess should say “Your name is unknown to me, but you are still welcomed.” The person should then ask a question. The questions should be phrased as succinctly as possible. No background information is needed. The Goddess will consult the divinatory tool she prefers at the time and divine the answer. The member should thank the Goddess by saying something like: “Thank you Great Goddess Nephthys, may your name live forever in the hearts of man. Once all divination work is done, everyone should move to
the dining table for the feast, which should be served within Sacred Space.
The meal should be eaten in a celebratory manner, keeping in mind that you
are in the presence of the Goddess. When the meal is finished, the Goddess
should return to the meditation area to release the body of the coven member,
while the coven releases the circle. |
