Ceremony of Offering to Sekhmet
Date- May 8th

This ceremony is about making an Offering to the great Goddess Sekhmet to keep her from destroying the crops with the destructive aspect of the sun (drought). This is a very quick ceremony and does not need to take place within Sacred Space.

Tools Needed:

Athame

Offering of Food

Red Candle

Statue of Sekhmet

Cauldron or Small Balefire

Place the statue on your altar with the red candle in front of it. In your cauldron, or in your balefire pit, create a small fire. If you are offering food, place the food in front of the statue of the Goddess. If you are offering herbs, or early harvest, place your offering into the Balefire. Hold your Athame straight up in your power hand and say:

I call to the Great Goddess Sekhmet.
To Come and receive the offering
which I make in your honor.
Please spare my land and my crops
The wrath of your destructive heat.
May your name be remembered
forever in the hearts of man.

Leave the candle burning until after sunset. Once it is fully dark out, snuff out the candle and save what is left for future use.
